Warlords Battlecry had a Real Time Strategy method to play out combat along with the turn bases games of Warlords. RTS is just a different genre, not an evolved form of TBS (well, I guess on a technical level it is, but you know what I mean). I feel they should capitalize on this instead of going for the saturated RTS market. Was really sad when Timegate Studios ended up doing some action-y stuff, and I don't even know if they are around still.Īnyway, I believe the AoW franchise has a firm standing in the fantasy TBS genre, with probably the best AI now. I liked the slow pace and the squad approach (the W40K games didn't pull me in ), the art direction, the campaign (especially in the first two games), the gameplay. The only RTS franchise I enjoyed (greatly so) were the Kohan games. I'm just not into twitchy games, I guess, and end up feeling overwhelmed. Y'know, something like "Age of Wonders: Battle for ". If Triumph were to make an RTS, I'd rather it be a new IP or be a spinoff of "Age of Wonders".

well, like the other guys in this thread indicate, many of them don't like RTS games. People associate it with turn based strategy, and so RTS fans won't buy it because they'll think of a slow-paced games, and AoW fans will be disappointed because. Originally posted by Iguana-on-a-stick:If Triumph want to make an RTS, it shouldn't be called "Age of Wonders." That'd be a poor use of the brand.
